Last month marked an exciting new chapter for GDX Studios (formerly Grandesign). We officially updated our brand’s identity, core values and how we think about the experiential marketing landscape in 2020 and beyond.
Brands encompass so much more than just how they are seen. It’s the sum of everything from products and services to employees engagement with customers to how they feel about their company when they talk about it.
GDX has undergone a lot of positive changes over the past couple years. Company initiatives have been reformed, employees changed and improvements have been set in advancing the company culture. These exciting new developments is our way of embracing the new and ever-changing experiential landscape. Our new identity keeps us one step ahead of that curve.
Who We Are
GDX Studios is a team of creative engineers who design and produce experiences worth sharing. Our work is congruent with what’s trending and our brand is a direct reflection of what we do, embodying “experiential” at its core.
As experiential marketing grows to even greater heights in the next decade, GDX will continue to engage consumers in fresh, bold and dynamic ways – creating buzz and driving consumers to share their experiences.
While specializing in execution, GDX is a creative studio that takes a holistic approach to experiential marketing and now offers various ancillary services designed to enhance the brand experience before, during and after the event. Such offerings include public relations, KPI tracking, content capture/creation and out-of-home opportunities.
The new logo can be seen as various shapes and forms – depending on how it’s viewed. Every activation, which can also be seen or developed in various ways, starts with a blank footprint. It’s up to our innovative team to fill it in with creative expertise, strategy and execution. GDX isn’t looking at the past, we’re looking at what’s to come!
Using Color to Break Through the Clutter
Experiential marketing is being used more and more by brands to break through the clutter of traditional advertising. Our new color palette is designed to match this sentiment.
As a collective team, we organically rejected the notion of a permanent brand color. A dated concept. Once freed of this notion, we were able to explore options that were otherwise unavailable, and get more creative. Just as GDX Studios will continue to evolve and expand into other offerings, the colors we utilize will also change over time. Maintaining this flexibility is important in ensuring a brand that retains a fresh outlook and feel.
The Value of Experiential Marketing
This new decade will be known as the Era of the Consumer. The problem that companies will continue to face is that consumers are increasingly selective, tech-savvy and over-exposed. This, combined with a shorter attention span than ever before, means that traditional forms of advertising are ineffective on their own.

To truly be successful in connecting with core audiences, experiential must take an innovative approach to achieve what we at GDX believe are the four keys to changing buying behavior and breaking through the clutter – trust, loyalty, perception and advocacy.
Our new messaging reflects this. Our goal is to inspire brands new to the industry to integrate experiential into their overall strategy as well as re-ignite brands already in this space by educating them with real ROI, real numbers, real facts.
This rebranding has been over a year in the making, in fact, we completely scraped the first version that originated in March 2019. Employees across all multidisciplinary teams were part of this process. I’d like to give a special thanks to Jess Kowalski for her creative vision and constant illustrative skills. Dan and Sophie Andreani were also instrumental by sharing their marketing and brand insights – helping us really craft and curate a unique brand voice.
Ultimately, the GDX Studios brand isn’t about a new logo, beautiful interface or even a new set of offerings. It’s about the amazing experiential activations, big and small, we help execute for brands across the country.
From entertainment brands like Universal Studios, WarnerMedia, and Carnival Cruise Lines to lifestyle brands such as hello toothpaste, CV Sciences, and Zappos – we are deeply humbled that these companies choose GDX to help achieve their important marketing initiatives.
